Stupid Things People Who Should Know Better Say

Michelle Obama's Words Insulting?
"I wake up every morning wondering how on earth I am going to pull off
that next minor miracle to get through the day. I know that everybody in this
room is going through this. That is the dilemma women face today.
Every woman that I know, regardless of race, education, income,
background, political affiliation, is struggling to keep her head above
water."
Michelle Obama
When you look up Inane in the dictionary, (devoid of good sense or judgment; "foolish remarks"), perhaps this comment by Michelle Obama should be included. Is she for real? Every woman "regardless of income" is struggling to keep her head above water. Come on.
People who make $900,000 a year, as she and her husband did before he was president, are not struggling to keep their heads above water. How dare she compare her life with others who actually do have to worry about keeping their heads above water, those who have to work full time to make a living, and then must put a large percentage of their paycheck toward child care?
How can she justify her words? I'd really like someone in the media to ask her. I really would, because, as a highly educated and supposedly intelligent woman, she can't possibly think what she said makes sense. In fact, wouldn't she agree that what she said was actually insulting to the average American? I think if she gave it a little more thought, she would.
So in an effort to fit in, or to relate to the average American, shouldn't
people who really can't relate, just say so? Can't they say something like,
"I can only imagine how frustrating it must be....etc," rather than
claiming to understand something they really can't? Wouldn't that give them
better credibility? To me, the average American, it would.
